QUESTION: Are there still plans to build an exit off of Highway 288 directly into the Brazos Mall parking lot in Lake Jackson?

ANSWER: The mall dropped their efforts to get this entrance with the Texas Department of Transportation. The city had approved this entrance and had also set aside up to $150,000 from the half-cent economic development sales tax to pay for the cost of that portion of this entry, which was on public property. I received a call from then-mall manager Lucilla Henderson that they would not be pursuing the entrance anymore and that we could release the $150,000, which we have done.

Bill Yenne, Lake Jackson city manager
