Funeral services for Katie Belle Grier, 76, of West Columbia will be Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Brazoria, Highway 36 and FM 521, with Pastor Jim Doyle and Bro. Jamie Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Brazoria Cemetery.

She died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at Cypress Woods Care Center in Angleton.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brazoria. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Thomas and Alberta Carter Sr.; her husband, Andrew D. Grier Sr.; brothers, Thomas Crawford Carter Jr. and Albert Hosmer Carter.

She is survived by 2 sons, Andrew D. Grier Jr. (Laura), Brazoria and Lloyd A. Grier (Elaine), Calgary, Canada; 1 daughter, Mary Denise Grier (Murray), West Columbia; 2 sisters, Nannie Alice Rutledge, St. Augustine, Florida, and Ada Carter Greene, Tallahassee, Florida; 5 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Pat Helton, Ronnie Brzozowski, Derek Brzozowski, Joshua Grier, Blake Grier and Nolan Grier.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bro. Sealy Smith and the Senior Adult Men’s Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Brazoria.

Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Dixon Funeral Home Chapel.
