Nora Nevada Stephens, of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2006, at the age of 80.

She retired from Goose Creek ISD after many years of service. She was born in Plains, Kansas, on August 9, 1926, to John Henry and Flossie Pemberton, both of whom preceded her in death, along with five grandsons; two brothers, Coy Pemberton and Carl Pemberton; sisters, Cora Sweet and Dora Turner.

She is leaving behind her loving husband of 51 years, John A. Stephens; daughters, Cynthia Lynn Hall and husband, Edward, of Danbury, Texas; Stephanie Forbeck of Ponca City, Oklahoma; son, Craig Allen Stephens of Baytown, Texas; brothers, Roy Pemberton of Norman, Oklahoma, Claude Pemberton of Blackwell, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Stephen Wilson and Lisa, Cameran Nichols, James Tipton, Billy Tipton, Daniel Reynolds; stepgrandchild, Jordan Hall; along with many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and caring friends.

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas, with interment at Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd, Texas.
